VPL & IPL beauty facial treatments. Is there any known risks? Can you have it done if you are pregnant?

I was wanting to have a VPL treatment on my face to rid some of my facial blemishes. Of course all the salons say it is safe etc. I don’t want to have it done and then find out years later it’s as dangerous as sunbeds……..(everyone swore they were ’safe’ like 5-10 years ago)

Because they are newer treatments I would not have them done while you are pregnant. If you are not pregnant they are perfectly safe, but you can never be too cautious during pregnancy.

What are some good do-it-yourself beauty treatments?

for example, deep conditioners, face masks, hair highlighters, etc. that can be done with products found around your house.

I use a mixture of egg yolk, cream and olive oil on my hair as deep conditioner.
I use the egg white as a face mask.
And lemon juice mixed in a mugful of water, left on for a while brings out beautiful blonde highlights in brown/blonde hair.
Mlk and honey makes a fantastic moisturiser.

What is the best wax at sally’s Beauty supplies?

And what works better for arms the heated wax or the cold one?

I really don’t want to shave them and they’re still noticeable after I bleached them

Also for anyone with past experience on arm hair removal, If I wax for a long time, how much time will it take for the hairs to grow in?

they have a "space saver" heater that heats up the wax that comes in little tubs. great investment not too expensive! i even think it’s on sale right now. they have different types of wax that comes in little tubs to fit in the heater, but the beeswax is usually fine for just about anything. they also have wax for sensitive skin, which i highly recommend if you’re doing it for the first time.

it’s different for everyone, but if you wax once a month, your hair will come in less and less, usually takes a month to come back in, and sometimes it will stop coming in alltogether if you do it for long enough.

they have pamphlets that you can use as a guide so you know you picked the right product for you. i don’t think the cold wax is as effective. make sure you test the temperature of the heated wax once you heat it up by putting a small dab on your wrist. it should be warm, but not burn.

don’t try to wax a huge area all at once. do small sections at a time, about 2-3 inches by 4-5 inches. i know you just want to get it over with, but this will give you the best results. press the muslin strip over the wax in the direction of your hair growth. brace yourself, hold your skin tight, and pull as fast as you can in the opposite direction of the hair growth.

i’ve never heard of a place that will do body waxing for $7. arms are usually about $30. you might want to go to a place to get it done for the first time, because it is not a pleasant experience.

What are the side effects of plant beauty products?

the side effects of all-natural beauty products…and it’ll be better if you gave me the side effects of homemade products AND those natural products made in a factory.

if they are made properly and used as per the direction then there are no side effects.
