i am on 6wks & 3 days of pregnancy for my first baby. I have lots of questions just to make sure i know everything to have a safe and healthy pregnancy.
Today, i want to know if it’s true that facial beauty products like moisturizers, foam wash and make ups are not safe for pregnant.
My colleagues just told me that I should avoid doing make ups and creams for my face because it might have bad effect for my pregnancy. Also, doing manicure & pedicure is also not good.
Please give me some tips about this. thanks.

There’s no truth behind this.

The only thing that changes during pregnancy skin-wise is your oil output. Some people get more oily, some get drier. It’s best, if you are experiencing a change, to use facial products and make-up for your new skin-type until after you’ve had the baby. And that’s just for your comfort. You don’t want to wear moisturizer for dry skin if you now have oily skin, but it won’t harm you in any way. If you don’t have any changes to your skin type, just keep using what you have always been using, it won’t hurt you or the baby at all! Also, some people may say to stay away from Vitamin A. The TRACE amounts of Vitamin A in make-up, cleansers, and moisturizers are so miniscule that they could not possibly make it into your blood stream to the baby from your face. You would need to injest Vitamin A capsules for that to happen!

Also, manicures and pedicures are GODSENDS for pregnant women. They’re a delightful little treat…go spoil yourself and don’t worry about them causing any harm. Just make sure the aesthetician is clean and has good credentials, like always.

I want to start a business and run a Beauty Supply Store in Ontario but I want to know if I have to be Goverment Certified or Licensed in Hair to actually run the business?

No.

If you are selling to the " hair and beauty trade " who are in turn using the products in their shop, or selling them to their customers, you don’t "need to be a hair stylist " or " barber ". yourself.

That would be like requiring a person who sells auto parts to be a auto mechanic……….Not required.

What you will "need " is to have good contacts in the wholesale supplier end of the business. You need to be able to buy your inventory at lower prices than the shop owners can get it for. Otherwise why should they buy from you ?

Here is a tip………..Offer delivery to the shops. Why ? People are lazy and if they know that your driver will deliver the order, next day, to the shop, they won’t bother going to a wholesaler to buy their supplies.

Hide the cost of the delivery in the prices. But make it CASH on delivery, no credit untill they have been a customer for more than six months and have bought more than $2,000 worth of supplies from you. Why ? Extending credit can kill your business, as fast as anything. Besides, what hair shop lets their customers pay in 30 days for services ? No one , of course.

Start with the smallest storage space that you can get. Better yet, see if you can find a "drop shipper " beauty supply company that will supply you with products and send them to the shops, with YOUR company name on the boxes, to save you from having to warehouse the products. If you have a garage with your house, or a basement, use that for storage, as long as it is not freezing cold. Shampoo doesn’t like to be frozen, right ?

since i was a child of course you can’t help to have scars, playing around or some little accident around home, schools or other places. what beauty products will i use to achieve a flawless skin? i dont have confident to wear a skirt or shorts because i want to hide them. any help?
even if the scars 18years ago? i want to get rid of them. my dermatologists gave me but it doesn’t work. even for those marks that visible to my knee. I got them when i was a child playing with my classmates, and I fell/slip on the floor.

Actually, the best thing to help get rid of them, is Vitamin E. I had a bas bike accident when I was younger and had scars all over me. My dad told me to open a Vitamin E capsule, and spread it over my scars. I thought he was kidding until I finally tried it. It actually worked too! I did it everyday and within a month they were completely gone. Trust me, it works.

What treatments are there for hair loss in women?
Ask your doctor about minoxidil (the generic name for Rogaine.) This is over-the-counter and available in 2% and 5% concentrations. It’s something of a nuisance to apply but it helps conserve hair and may even grow some. Propecia is a drug that helps men retain their hair but unfortunately has no use for women. Propecia is not safe for women of childbearing age and it just doesn’t work for older women. This is unfortunate but, for the moment, this is the situation. Surgical procedures like hair transplants can be useful for some women as well as men to "fill in" thinned-out areas.
